Michael Vick is one of the most respected athletes in the NFL. Many believe he is the most exciting athlete in the NFL. Others believe he is controversial. Hefor sure added to his controversial rep. After a tough loss to the New Orleans Saints Michael Vick was heckled by fans and then he gave them the finger. For some controversy creates cash but all Michael Vick wanted to do after the incident was apologize. The Falcons fined Michael Vick for his actions. Michael Vick will not be benched at his next start as others thought he would. I chose this article because it shows how you have to be a professional in things other than sports.
Do you think the Falcons did the right thing in not suspending Michael Vick?
Would you react the same way as Michael Vick did if you were in his situation?

I think its wrong that micheal vick would stick his middle finger to his fans, but i also think that the falcons made a good choice by not suspending him because hes an exellent player and the team needs him and the problem is beetween him and the fans.
Micheal vick reacted to the problem as any other person would in my opinion because i would probobly do the same thing. But also you have to know that now in days people can use anything against you so you have to be very carefull.
Question One: I don't think that the Falcons did the right thing by not suspening Michael Vick because Michael Vick should jearn how to bahave, and learn to control his anger, bY NOT stickiing up his middle finger to his fans.
Question two: I strongly believe that Michael Vick reacted the sam way any one else would if they were in the same position. The problem is that the paparatzi can use anything against you now a days. So you have to think before you act.
I think the Falcons made a better choice to have Michael Vick pay for the price rather than be suspended because he will probably learn more from paying plus it is going to charity. If he would have been suspended then the team wouldn't be the same and the team would get mad but Michael Vick shouldn't have stuck his middle finger up.
Michael Vick made the wrong decision to stick up his middle finger but most people would react the same way. I probably would have reacted the same way as Michael Vick even though it was the wrong decision. If he doesn't change his attitude then he will wind up getting suspended if something happens again.
QUESTION #1: I think that the Falcons did the right thing in not suspending Michael Vick. Even though he made an rude hand gesture that was very inappropriate he took his punishment without complaint because he knew he had done wrong. He paid 10, 000 dollars and apologized twice.
QUESTION #2: In my opinion Michael Vick acted the same way any other person wouldn't do. Although Michael Vick should know better because he is a famous football player and he should know that he is not going to be liked by everyone.
1. i think it was definatly the right thing not to suspend him. sometimes when people get made, they can do things they don't mean. i think after paying $20,000, h has learned his lesson. i also think they should try to find the rude "fan", and punish him in some way.
2. If i was in a situation like this, I would probably at the same way. Sometimes its hard for me to keep my temper down. I would also be in a bad mood considering we just lost a game, and eveyone is booing us. it would be hard to keep calm with people yelling rude things at you even though you dont know them.
I beleive the Falcons did the right thing by not suspending Micheal Vick. He is a very imprortant part of the team. The other players on the team, I think cannot do one thrid of what he does on the feild consistantly well.
I have reacted in a way as such and have been so over enraged by a loss as Michael Vick did. I feel for him but being in a more professional league there are higher standards and expectations. I am suprised he was not suspended.
Question #1: I feel that the Falcons did the right thing not suspending Michael Vick. He is there starting quarterback... and they need him. He made a bad judgement call, but, everyone will eventually get over it.
Question #2: I don't neccessarily feel that Michael Vick did the wrong thing to stick up his middle finger, but it wasn't right. He did a normal thing any angry person would do. Mabye what the person in the stands said offended him. He is a pro football player though, so he needed to conduct himself a little better.
Question 1: I think that the falcons made a bad choice by not suspending Michael Vick. Sure he paid a fine, but I do not think that will teach him to control his anger. I do not think being fined brought that much pain to Michael except for shame for what he did. I think if he had been suspended he would have realized how big his mistake really was.
Question 2: If I was Michael Vick I would have probably reacted in a similar way. Losing a game is not easy and being booed off the field would not help. Although I understand it is hard to control your anger sometimes I believe what he did just added to the fans anger. Nothing comes from anger except more anger so there is no point in responding to it.
It was right not to suspend him because he was mad and all he did was loose his cool.
I might not have publically apoligized unless it was a major controversy.
They had given the right choice not to suspend him just for giving the finger to another team.
If I where in micheal vicks shoes I would of handle the situations a bit more carfully, but he might of had reasons for his action.
Great article.
I would never give anyone the finger. Exspecially to fans. Who would do that? Well obviously him. This just goes to show you that you should think before you act. And all causes have an effect.
