Can I entice you with some extra credit to do a little extra work for me? Check out these questions:
How has your writing been affected by use of the blogs?
Which post would you use to prove that writing can be improved through the use of blogs?
Do you think students should have to use correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization when blogging? Why or why not? Support your answer with an example from your blog, or another class blog.
How has your knowledge of current events changed since using the blogs?
Which current did you enjoy reading the most, and why?
What specific skills do you think you have gained through the regular use of the blog?
Do you think posting should be a requirement? Why or why not? Support your reasoning with examples from the blog.
Please try to answer these questions--you DO NOT have to answer them here on the blog, but on a couple of notes if you want. (You can even print out the examples and bring with you.) We'll be conducting small-group discussions on Monday (videotaped) to chat about our blog and what we can do to improve it for the rest of the year. Come prepared with the answers to the questions, fresh ideas, an open mind and smile on your face!
Thanks guys!
:)

Me and my group agree that a blog is esential for every class that has college bound students. It has definetly helped me become a better speller and a more confident writer. I believe that in a world that is so technology based it is paramount that students learn how to be familiar with technology so they can build a succesful job and life. A class with a blog is a class with high future goals.
You guys were so awesome today! I'm unbelievably proud of how you conducted yourselves and the thought you dedicated to the activity.
Great work--you make me proud!
My group and i belive the blog is an essential tool to use in our class. It allows us to show our creativity and work with the class. I personally feel that with the blog I am now more comfertable with my writing. I hope to have futre classes like this one.For example when we made our scary stories we posted them and got positive and negative feedback. This helps us understand our strengths and weaknesses in reading and writing.
My group and I decided that posting should be a requirement. Posting gets the kids involved as if posting is a homework assignment. Posting on the computer practices typing and research. Posting would be more fun if someone added a current event that everyone would like it would be more enjoyable and easier for us to comment.
